Mediterranean Makeover - Group Coaching
For many people, adopting healthier habits is easier in groups than alone. Not only because it’s simply more fun to learn, move and grow together; it can also be reassuring to know that others are in the same boat and have the same struggles we do. Lastly, group members provide an element of accountability that helps us stay the course.
In today's stressful world, many of us need help to improve our nutritional health. Each of us may have a slightly different reason, but this program can help you to —
- Lose belly fat
- Balance blood lipids (cholesterol and triglycerides)
- Reduce blood pressure
- Improve insulin function and balance glucose levels
- Lower inflammation and support immune function
- Improve digestive health
By shifting to a Modern Mediterranean diet & lifestyle, you can lower your risk of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease and other chronic conditions.
The program lasts six months and comprises 12 group sessions of 90 minutes each. I lead the sessions, providing education, encouragement and practical tools such as recipes, meal plans, stress-management techniques and more.
Throughout the program, group members support each other by exchanging recipe ideas, helping each other overcome challenges and sharing ideas for fun physical activities. Wherever possible, group members are encouraged to meet up to go food-shopping, to cook together and be exercise buddies.
Group size is limited to a maximum of 10 participants. This gives everyone the opportunity to share victories and challenges and receive encouragement and feedback. We meet via Zoom, an easy-to-use video conferencing platform. This allows for relaxed group conversations as well as for screen sharing of helpful information. Further down the road, I plan to to offer in-person groups in Denver and Boulder.
